Tip: Crop tightly around the subject and prefer high-contrast artwork; if you can re-export the original, PNG avoids compression artifacts entirely.

JEF (Janome Embroidery Format) is read by Janome Memory Craft and Skyline series machines, plus Elna eXpressive models. The format stores thread colours as indices into the Janome thread palette. Copy the .jef file into the EMBF folder on a USB stick and open it from the machine's built-in file browser.
