About PNG files
PNG is a lossless image format with full transparency support. Transparent pixels can be treated as background without estimating where the subject ends. Lossless compression avoids JPEG-style edge noise, but gradients, tiny details, and anti-aliased edges are still simplified into stitchable colour regions.
Tip: Export logos and clip-art as PNG with a transparent background for the cleanest stitch regions.
About the PES format
PES (Brother embroidery format) is read by Brother PE800, SE600/SE700, Innov-ís and Luminaire series machines, and Baby Lock machines. The format embeds a PEC colour block using the 64-colour Brother thread palette. Copy the .pes file to a USB stick and open it from the machine's Embroidery menu.
