Melco makes popular embroidery machines, and getting designs onto them starts with the right file format. This guide covers Melco's native formats, which SewFlow output to choose, and how to create machine-ready designs for free.
Melco File Formats
Melco machines typically use DST and EXP files. With SewFlow, export your design as DST or EXP — a widely compatible format that Melco machines read reliably. If your specific model supports another format, choose the closest match in the export menu.
How to Make a Design for Your Melco Machine
- 1Open SewFlow at sewflow.com/image for artwork or sewflow.com/text for lettering.
- 2Upload your image and remove the background, or type and style your text.
- 3Set the design size and choose DST or EXP in the Output Format menu.
- 4Click Preview Stitches to check the design.
