About BMP files
BMP is the uncompressed Windows bitmap format. BMP files are completely uncompressed, so there are zero compression artifacts — every pixel is exactly as authored. BMP has no transparency, so the automatic background removal detects and strips solid backgrounds instead.
Tip: Keep the background a single flat colour so the automatic background removal can strip it cleanly.
About the PES format
PES (Brother embroidery format) is read by Brother PE800, SE600/SE700, Innov-ís and Luminaire series machines, and Baby Lock machines. The format embeds a PEC colour block using the 64-colour Brother thread palette. Copy the .pes file to a USB stick and open it from the machine's Embroidery menu.
