Why convert PES to JEF?
PES is the Brother embroidery format, read by Brother PE800, SE600/SE700, Innov-ís and Luminaire series machines, and Baby Lock machines. Convert to JEF when your Janome or Elna machine reads JEF natively. What happens to thread colours
PES and JEF both carry a colour sequence, but they use different palette systems. What format conversion cannot fix
Changing PES to JEF does not improve poor digitizing, add missing underlay, resize the design for a different hoop, or make an unsupported design safe for a machine. Format limits and machine interpretation can change trim behaviour or palette display, so use the preview as a verification step—not as a substitute for a test stitch.
