From drawn marks to stitch regions
Drawings use the same image-analysis path as logos and other artwork; there is no hidden drawing-only mode. Bold outlines and filled shapes convert into embroidery regions most reliably. Very pale pencil marks, paper texture, and hairline details may disappear when the design is simplified for sewing.
Prepare a drawing
- Scan or photograph the page straight-on in bright, even light.
- Increase contrast so the artwork separates clearly from the paper.
- Use opaque, continuous lines; faint or broken pencil marks may not survive digitizing.
- Crop away page edges, shadows, and unrelated marks before upload.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert a pencil sketch?
Yes, but darken faint lines and increase contrast first. Bold ink or marker drawings generally trace more reliably than light graphite.
Is there a special drawing digitizing mode?
No. Drawings use the same faithful artwork-tracing pipeline as logos and illustrations, with controls to clean up the stitched result.
Can a child's drawing be embroidered?
Yes. Photograph or scan it on a plain background, crop closely, and make sure the important lines are dark enough to remain visible.
Is drawing conversion free?
Creating, previewing, and saving the design is free. Downloading the machine file requires a paid plan or bonus credit.
